Q6 I want to join. What happens next?

As in question 4, a popular way is to be introduced by an existing member.

Assuming you have first found out about us via this website, you can go to the 'contacts' page, where you can either e-mail, phone or text us. We will then make arrangements for you to meet us. Alternatively, you can just attend one of the Tuesday night club nights at the Millstone pub. However, we do recommend you contact us before attending, as club nights are subject to change.

FAQs

Q1 What is the Newcastle IVC?

Newcastle IVC was founded in 1969 and is part of a national network of social clubs aimed at professionals, students, graduates and other people of similar interests.

Singles and couples are welcome, although we are not a singles club or a dating agency. Newcastle IVC is run entirely on a voluntary basis. We don't make a profit, and our sole purpose is to socialise, meet people, make friends and have fun.

Each month we produce the 'Bridge', which is a programme of all of the events arranged that month as well as forthcoming events. Events are organised by members, and you can go to as many events as you like.

Q2 Is there an age limit for members?

No - there is no no age limit for members.

Q3 How much does it cost to join?

The annual subscription is £10. For those not in employment, it is £5. We also offer a month's free trial for prospective members.

Q4 Can I bring along a friend?

Guests are welcome to come along to weekend events.

Q5 Do you have a club constitution?

Yes. This can be viewed here: Constitution
